Island of Terror (1966)
"Island of Terror" is a 1966 British sci-fi horror film directed by Terence Fisher. The film is set on the remote Petrie's Island, where a mysterious and deadly outbreak has occurred. When locals discover bodies with their bones completely dissolved, they seek help from Dr. Brian Stanley, a renowned pathologist, and Dr. David West, an expert in bone diseases.
As the doctors investigate, they uncover that the cause of the deaths is linked to a scientific experiment gone wrong. A group of scientists, led by Dr. Lawrence Phillips, had been conducting research to find a cure for cancer. Their experiments inadvertently created monstrous creatures called silicates, which feed on human bones.
The film follows the efforts of Dr. Stanley, Dr. West, and the island's residents as they try to find a way to stop the silicates before they cause more devastation. The suspense builds as the characters face various challenges and dangers, ultimately leading to a tense and dramatic climax.
