The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini (1966)
"The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini" (1966) is a delightful comedy horror film that stands out as part of the American International Pictures' beach party movie series It uniquely combines elements of ghostly mischief with the typical beach party antics.
The film's plot revolves around a group of teenagers who come together at a spooky mansion for what they believe will be a fun and carefree party. However, things take a wild turn when the ghost of a beautiful woman, Cecily (played by Susan Hart), makes her presence known. Cecily has been tasked with ensuring that her former lover, Hiram Stokely (Boris Karloff), who has recently passed away, performs a good deed within a limited time frame to secure his place in the afterlife.
Cecily's mission is complicated by the mansion's other inhabitants, a cast of quirky and sinister characters with agendas. The teenagers, initially oblivious to the ghostly happenings, soon find themselves embroiled in a series of comedic and spooky escapades. These include encounters with secret passageways, treasure hunts, and slapstick moments.
As the story unfolds, Cecily uses her ghostly powers to manipulate events and help the teenagers, all while maintaining her invisibility to everyone but the audience. The film mixes humor with mild scares, creating a lighthearted and entertaining atmosphere.
