Strait-Jacket (1964)
In "Strait-Jacket," Lucy Harbin has a rather unconventional solution for adultery: an axe. When she discovers her husband in bed with his lover, she takes matters into her own hands—literally. Unfortunately, her three-year-old daughter, Carol, witnesses the gruesome act. Lucy is tried and declared criminally insane, spending the next two decades in a mental institution. Upon her release, Lucy moves in with her brother and his wife on their farm. There, she reunites with her now-grown daughter, Carol, who has become an artist and sculptor. However, Lucy’s emotional stability is fragile, haunted by dreams and flashbacks of her horrific crime. She envisions herself lying in bed with the severed heads of her victims.
