No sushi today (but our local grocery store has started carrying some, kind of like Safeway sushi yet a little better, still nowhere near as good as the real deal of course). In fact, there was really no fan fare what-so-ever. We just took our new puppy out to my parents' place and had a delicious roast beef dinner, sat around, watched NASCAR and caught up with each other. Which was all perfectly fine with me.

The exciting part of the day happened after we got back home. The pup was playing and took off across the apartment at full throttle only to end his sprint by jamming his right leg into the bathroom door jamb. He couldn't walk on it and was in a lot of pain so we rushed him off to the animal ER on the other side of the city. Of course, by the time we got him checked in he was walking again as if nothing ever happened other than he had a very slight limp. So we avoided the extremely expensive ER examination to monitor him at home. If his limp doesn't improve or worsens we'll take him in to see our vet Monday (for half of what we would have paid). So yeah, I could have done without that part. :rolleyes:

But other than that it was pretty laid back. According to Patton Oswalt I'm not even supposed to get a birthday this year. Just another day closer to death. :skull:
