RIP Les Paul

Post by hodgy »

Les Paul dead at 94.

If it wasn't for him, we'd still be in the dark ages, and our bands would sound even shittier.
I seem to recall Clapton playing a Fender Strat, though. Stupid reporters.

Well, I do recall Clapton playing an SG and I believe that Les was responsible for that design as well. So maybe that's where they're getting that from.

He was a true innovator though. No argument about that. I take some pride in that he was from my area in WI. RIP Les.

Nowhere in the article do i see a mention of Eric slow hand Clapton. Maybe they got wind of your comment and fixed the article already.....

The world of music owes Les Paul massive respect.

On clapton, he did use a les paul for a while in the 70s & with Derek and the Dominos. And yes, les paul is responsible for the SG as well. Les felt is was way too neck heavy, so it was just adopted into the gibson line & the les paul guitar we all know got his signature on the headstock.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who feels that way.
