offers.

This week we are giving away 28 Weeks Later,
the sequel to the zombie-riffic 28 Days Later
for only 99¢.

I'm going to buy the DVD though as I am not a fan of rights management and want to watch it on my large TV

Looks like most of the other movies cost 10 bucks to download. That seems a bit much for just a bunch of 0's and 1's.

Count me out! For just a little more than $10, I can go out and buy the DVD. I would much rather have a real DVD instead of some piece of "virtual merchandise". Then I would have to burn it to a disc before watching it on TV unless I just wanted to see it on my PC and that is too much trouble for me. I don't have broadband access anyway so downloading large binary files like movies is pretty pointless for me;)

But to each their own.

Jesus. Bittorrent.com is all over the place with this offer. They emailed me about it and suggested that I post it on Cinema Suicide but weren't too keen on my idea that they, you know, pay for advertising like most companies do.

I was wondering if anybody on here has actually tried downloading movies (LEGALLY...of course). While this idea may appeal to some, I hate to think about the impact it would have on the DVD and rental markets. I don't rent movies much anymore and the only time I have done so in recent years is when I was on vacation. I usually buy DVDs that I'm interested in and my public library keeps a good stock of current releases that can be checked out free for a week so I have no need to rent anything these days:) But there are still some people who feel otherwise and would like to rent before they buy. Granted it would take a broadband connection and a great deal of patience to download an entire film. Still I would much rather have a widescreen DVD with all the extras instead of a downloaded movie (which may most likely be in fool-screen format). What do you guys think? Any chance this could have a negative impact on the future of DVDs or renting?
