Robo Vampire

Post by DylanDog »

Have you ever found yourself wondering how Robocop would fare against a horde of Chinese hopping vampires? Hey, let's not kid ourselves, we ALL have. Well, the answer lies in this wonderful movie. I'm not sure if there was an actual plot in there somewhere because I was too busy laughing to notice, but I'll just tell you about some of the wonderful things you'll witness when seeing this gem.

1) The WORST Robocop ripoff ever. Most of his armor looks like it was made out of an umpires equipment.

2) A hopping vampire with a gorilla head. Now, it didn't fly in Robot Monster in the 50's, why in the hell would someone try it again? Brutal.

3) A love story between said vampire/gorilla and a western girl/eastern-style ghost.

4) A big muscle bound martial arts guy who seemed to fight like Homer Simpson, i.e., just stand there letting people hit him. He should have thought to cover his eyes though.

5) Do I even need to mention the dubbing?

And of course your usual mixture of gunfights, martial arts, magic, people flying on wires, terrible looking dummies, hilarious dialogue, (At one point, the Roboguy gets blown to kingdom come, completely disintegrated, and the guy who built him says "He's short-circuited!")etc, etc....

Needless to say, this movie was awesome and definitely falls into the category of the "must be seen to be believed" style of film. In fact, I'll say it simply MUST BE SEEN!

I got the dvd last week from b-movie.com. It's a really shitty release, just the vhs version transferred to disc, no extras, no menus, no chapter stops, etc. It was only $10, though so if you just like the dvd format better (i.e. it fits on you shelf nicely) then you may wanna grab it. It sure is a crummy film. Image
