How stupid is this? Gravy training on a grunge bands name is one thing but actually following through with it is even worse....

well, i would be much more condemning, except that this band formed in 88. the seattle nirvana formed in 87. so i highly doubt that n02 had even heard of the grunge band when they formed. in fact, after our nirvana put out their first ep, this nirvana added the 02 suffix so as not to get confused with the grunge one. still, that shows a lack of creativity. they should have just changed the name entirely. but, que sera sera ya know!

They didn't follow the gravy train, they put out a couple ep's way back in 88 or 89. Bands have used names already taken Slaughter(Canadian death metal) and Incubus (Louisianna death metal) before said named money maker bands became famous. Now if those Swede's would have came out with that name in the 90's, I could totally see the riding the gravy train.

They were served papers from the Geffen camp to change their name so they added the 2002 in the early 90.

Even if they did have the name first, Nirvana 2002 is a LAME name.

I think I'll call my next band The Beatles 2002.
