Scott’s Surgery / S2C Prepares to hit the Studio

No worries folks, the surgery's nothing super serious. I'll be getting a procedure done known as a Septoplasty. You can watch our newest webisode for details on the what the hell that is! (http://www.myspace.com/s2crocks - browse to the webisode section)

The bad news is it will put me out of commission for the next few weeks, but after that, we will be prepping up our chops to head into the studio in November to lay down what is sure to be our strongest album to date by far. We are completely excited about this album, and can't wait to share it with everyone.

And for any who wish to help or even be a part of this new album, stay tuned, as we will have details on how you can do just that in the next week!!

Rock on!

Scott (S2C)

Good luck on the septoplasty, it's a really simple procedure and should be really easy for you. I had that done a while back as a part of my treatment for sleep apnea. I am hoping that your surgeon will cauterize the "wound" rather than packing your nose with cotton. Mine got cauterized and recovery was gravy with the exception of having meat like chunks come out of my nose when flushing it for the first week or two after the surgery. My friend got his nose packed with absorbent materials rather than cauterized and I had the pleasure of watching his doc remove the packing. As soon as it came out blood just poured from his nose. While it looked nasty as hell it didn't hurt or anything. Cauterization just seems a lot cleaner to me :)

The oddest thing about mine is that a couple of rubber pieces around 3 inches long were placed inside my nose after the surgey to keep the septum straight while it healed. After the recovery time (I want to say a week but I can't be sure) I went in to have them removed. it was the strangest feeling when he pulled them out! Again, no pain but it felt weird as hell and I couldn't believe how big the things were.

The septoplasty was the only surgery I have ever had and it was very smooth and painless.

Dude, the mallet they use to chisel bone is AWESOME!

They forgot to put me under before taking me into the operating room.

Some seriously cool tools of the trade used in this procedure. :D

Nice, guys!

I'm having the operation done by Dr. Gregory Chan, who also works with the Seattle Opera (referred to him by my Andy Shaw), so even if he packs me with fresh sheared wool I'm pretty confident he should do a good job. :metal: I'll of course update eveyone once the surgery is done.

Glad to hear it's a simple thing (at least from Chris, thanks Clark), I have a horrible problem of anxiety with doctor's, especially with something where they put you under or knock you loopy.

I don't know, my vasectomy wasn't all that bad. Given the trade off, I think I'll take sore grapes for a week over blowing kibbles n' bits out of my nose.

Best of luck to ya, Scott.

Thanks Lee,

I'm actually thinking it'll be more on the lines of Beggin Strips, but we'll just have to see what kind of magic appears.

Mine wasn't bad, but the time leading up to the operation knowing that your scrotum will be cut open was torture.

What a bunch of wussies! Try having your whole gut cut open for essenitally the same outcome! :D

(pun intended now that I see it typed.)

With that said... good luck Scott and I'm here to help should you find you have too many percosets left over. :metal: ;)

Quick, codeine induced update:

Surgery went fine, though I found out the hard way I'm allergic to HydroCodone.

Got the packing and splints out today, and hopefully will be in good enough shape to make it back to work in the next week.

Thanks to all the well wishers.

Oh man! That blows! I hope you didn't have too much complication from that. What a terrible time to find out about an allergy!

Glad you're better though. Got pix?

Threw up blood for a bit and a crapload of pain since the damn stuff wasn't working, but but switched over to tylenol-4 instead, which is much better.

Didn't get any pics prior to having the packing and splints taken out, but here's how sexy I'm looking currently.
