AC/DC New Album

Post by xryanvkm »

Guitarist Angus Young told the Hit Parader magazine that AC/DC have written and recorded so much material over the last year that they might seriously consider making their next album release a double disc.

"We do have a lot of songs at the moment," he said. "But that's not incredibly unusual for us. We tend to have a lot of material at some point in the recording process, then begin to whittle it down. But this time, we like a lot of what we're hearing, so the idea of expanding things out is not out of the realm of possibility."

I agree, which is why I am on the side of those who don't slam Metallica for choosing to evolve. After their Black album, everyone was trashing on them because it didn't sound like Master of Puppets, but it was a step in a different direction. Rush is a perfect example of how evolution can keep a band great (Right Chad? Go Geddy!) AC/DC is a great band that is completely worthy of its place in music history, but I totally agree that their sound has gotten quite stale.

I have seen it go both ways as far as metallica the music quality went sour after the Black Album in my opinion. Some bands I have seen try to do way to much just to grow. If they have a good sound why change it??

It's just a matter of opinion, I guess. It sure worked for AC/DC.

I think AC/DC does need to do something different too many albums all sounding the same so that is a good point. But they have got to be one of the greatest bands to ever live.
