I'm glad you brought up the how did he know about/find his sister bit? That really irked me. Overall, I didn't care much for it, though I wasn't even ever a real big fan of the original series (my favorite is 3 and surprisingly, I met two other people over the weekend who feel the same!) and neither...

I'm with Kimberly on this, though for me it's been bt and On Demand and the occasional jaunt to the theater. With limited time and resources, sadly, dvds have fallen by the wayside. This is a huge reason I don't post as much as in the past. The urgency to seek out things just isn't there anymore. I s...

Ah, sorry 'bout that. I seem to recall it being included around here and didn't really question it beyond that.

I think I posted about Dark Ride before, but I can't remember. It's ok. Nothing you haven't seen before and the carnival itself is the star. Never mind Dark Ride not being included on OD, but how is the Snoop Dogg film not included in the dvd box set? Wouldn't you think that would be the one that wo...

I just watched the first four last week to catch up (never read any of the books) and I think this one is maybe the best so far (3 being the other contender). I agree that those characters are "just there" as you say, but I didn't think they really needed too much screen time since they re...

I just woke up so excuse me if I'm reading this wrong, but did you just say that this movie was sent back to the drawing board in order to make it MORE violent?!?! Has that ever happened before?

Ok, waited until the last night and finally made my way out there on Thursday. It was lots of fun, much more comedy than horror ( I probably should have put this in the Beaten Track, but somehow it just feels more at home here. Feel free to move it if you like, Chris.). The writing was tight and the...

This thread hasn't been updated in awhile (and I can't believe I'm the one to do it) but there's some decent deals in the $5 bin at WalMart. I grabbed: The Lost Boys The Omen High Tension Stephen King's Riding The Bullet Stephen King's Storm of the Century There are other King adaptions in there too...

Fido?

Anyone seen this zombie comedy yet? It's playing about an hour from me and I was thinking of making the drive out this week. Looks like it might be fun.

I was the only person in the theatre to see this tonight.I thought it was very good. As Bryan suggested, it knows the difference being "scaring" you and "startling" you unlike the tired old J-horror stuff. The first half of this one had me afraid to look around the empty theatre ...

The Mad and Plane Dead

Anyone seen these two recent zombie flicks? I thought both were lots of fun. The Mad was the better of the 2, imo, but both were much better than I expected. The Mad is more comedic with Billy Zane as an aging 80s rocker taking his "family" (gf, daughter and her bf) on vacation when they s...

Saw this on a double bill with TF last night. It was fun, but I agree, it would pretty silly at times. I was with a buddy of mine too who actually worked on the design of a couple of those planes and he said they simply didn't do some of the things they were shown doing (apparently they were shootin...

I thought it was ok. Much more comedic than I was expecting. I enjoyed the action in the first half much more than the second. A couple things felt forced (the first of Prime's little speeches, the arrival of the Decepticons) and the ending was stupid as hell. Furthermore, just once I would have lik...

I think the only part of them I don't like is the guy who plays Dr. Doom. If that is where the bad acting rap lies, sure. But I think the folks who play the four themselves are great. They seem to have great chemistry and just the right flair for the humor. Funny, but not too over the top silly (ok,...

Agreed. Good movie and the title sequence was indeed excellent. But to be honest, it felt like it should have been used on another movie, like a Euro Spy film or something. And though the movie was intense, did you notice how relatively bloodless it was? For a film about snuff, you'd think it would ...

Killing Joke was the best Joker book ever. It started my obsession with collecting Joker comics (had almost all of them at one time...). Anyway, I didn't even know they were making a new movie until this thread and now I'm just totally fucking confused. If that shitty pic above is the new joker, wha...

"Please, Miss! Two-Face has pissed himself again!"

That was a phenomenal book and Dave McKean one of the best artists ever. It was his absolutely beautiful rendition of the Swamp Thing in the Black Orchid limited series that got me into that character.

POTC3: At World's End

I never would have thought I'd be out to see this on the first night, but the new theatre near me charges only $7.50 for a movie, soda AND popcorn. And I was sort of curious to see what the turn out would be there. And I have to admit, these movies are tons of fun. The first was a real blast and sur...

Nice catch! Strike Commando rocks! It's funny. For years I didn't want to admit how much I liked these old hollywood action flicks, but it was those Italian knockoffs that forced me to re-evaluate them. I think there may have even been a thread about this a few years back, but there was a reason guy...

Yeah, sorry for the wait, but I checked it out today. I liked it as well. Loved the extermination sequence and the new plot device that led to the re-emergence of the infected. I thought it was not only believable but also made for a nice idea to follow up on in a future release. I did not like how ...
