How is that elitist Joe? That's REALITY BASED. Fuck those idiots in Washington and at the NAR. Swimming in debt is no way to go through life. I know it. I've found that living without the stress that comes with debt is much better than living in a huge house that swallows more than half my income f...

If you can't afford it on a 15 year loan, then you shouldn't buy it, plain and simple. You'll save literally 6 figures when you do a 15 vs a 30 year loan on the average priced house. I'm on a 15 year loan at 75% LTV and 4.5% APR. Like Ophidian, no HELOCs and other BS that keep you trapped in debt. W...

Back on topic... :D Does anyone know any good choir VST plugins? I've tried looking for Spectrasonics' Symphony of Voices , but it's over $400 and can't seem to, uh, locate it anywhere else. :D One word: Omnisphere. Worth every penny. Blows every hardware synthesizer I've ever heard out of the water.

I actually run UAC all the way up. Not that I don't trust my firewall, but most exploits are coming over port 80 and I doubt if every bit of code coming through is scanned no matter whose you are using. It's kind of a pain to have to OK every change to the drive, but you KNOW about it every time it...

Hey Joe... Do you leave port 139 open on your firewall as well as disable UAC? Yeah. So's I can share my midget porn folder with the world. I have a stateful packet inspecting hardware firewall between my computers and the intertubes. I'm willing to sacrifice UAC's security to make Vista less woman...

Haha, that's funny you mention it; I just installed DKFH last night and been having a ball. If it's good enough for Meshuggah and Devin Townsend, it'll work just fine for me! :D From what I've heard, the staff view leaves much to be desired. But I'm a total control freak when it comes to my own mus...

Off topic, but have you had a chance to use Windows 7 beta? Just wondering if they actually fixed how fucked Vista is. I have tried it, but not on my main workstation at home. I'm debating whether or not to put Windows 7 on there. Vista isn't that bad once you do some tuning on it. Disabling UAC ma...

I use and really like Sonar. Dual monitors make all the difference in the world. I've actually found that it runs better on Vista than on XP. All of my wave data is stored on a server share, and Sonar/Vista has no problem running even 20 audio tracks. XP, as much as it hurts me to admit, couldn't do...

Are you playing with them? I have some friends' going again that were just asking if any of my friends' bands would be there this year. Guess I can give 'em an answer finally, anyhow. :) (and freshly reunited? please. ;) ) Ok, so maybe freshly isn't the right word. I think CB is playing ...

Maiden Voyage - 5/2, Custer WA
A 4 piece version of Maiden Voyage will be playing at the "Frank on Stein" party in Custer next Saturday. We'll be doing 45 minutes of Paul Dianno era Iron Maiden songs. My former Slavemason bandmate, Bill, will be singing and playing geetar. There will be roughly 10 bands (including fresh...

WEP and WPA are just two different wireless encryption algorithms. Chris is right about WEP. Can be cracked without too much hassle, and the big keys are a serious pain in the ass. WPA basically just requires you to set up what is essentially just a regular-style password that you have to enter when...
