Nah, man, just go with it. I actually enjoyed this one the most of the bunch exactly because it was funny. It seemed to not take itself seriously at all and was much better off for it.

I've yet to like even one entry in this series, yet I'll probably go see this just for the 3D.

I am usually not a big fan of the evil child movies (although I did like Joshua) so this one was behind the 8 ball for me from the get go. I thought the actors did great jobs and the suspense was indeed top notch... but.... SPOILERS BELOW... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. there was at least 2 thin...

I did in fact manage to go see this a week ago and really enjoyed it. I saw the 3D version and while it looked really nice from a depth perspective, there was very little jump off the screen and into your lap type effects, the best one actually coming after the credits and that had nothing to do wit...

Babysitter Wanted

Anyone seen this one? I watched it a week or two ago with no prior knowledge of what it was other than a horror movie and was very pleasantly surprised. Nice young girl moves away from home for the first time to attend college and takes a job babysitting for a couple who live on a farm out in the mi...

Man, I'm so out of it. I didn't even realize that this was playing in 3D! After the fun I had at My Bloody Valentine, I'll head out to see it just for the gimmick. And hopefully, it's as good as you say it is.

Damn. I didn't expect this. I was so not interested in this movie that I didn't even realize it was out already. Now I may have to check it out.

Thanks for the recommendation! This was indeed a most powerful film. Just thinking about nearly a week later still gets me a bit choked up.

I saw it last Tuesday at IMAX where it look fantastic. I was about 3 rows back from the screen and some scenes, particular where Dr. Manhattan was huge and reaching down through the roof or the Mars landscape, look great from that vantage point. Overall, as a long time fan of the comic book, I was v...

Damn, gothbat, 76 movies already?!?! Jeez....

I usually end up with the most at the end of the year but I'm just about ready to concede this race already in early February! LOL .

I saw this last Wednesday before going out of town and while I can't say I loved it, I thought the 3D was amazing. I'd never seen a 3D film in a theater before and it far exceeded my expectations, especially at the beginning. I don't know if they toned it back in the middle or if my eyes just got us...

Great recap as always, Remo! Here's my thoughts on a few things you didn't mention. Probably the best of the ones you missed would be Eden Lake and Baby Blues. Both films get their shocks from putting children in extreme situations. Neither was wholly original outside of that, but I think Eden Lake ...

Watched it earlier, and I actually wasn't all that impressed. Maybe I'll appreciate it more on repeated viewings, but my first impression was that it felt a bit tired and unoriginal. The way season 7 wrapped up was great and this seemed unnecessary. Hopefully the next thing will be better. Oh and on...

I went to see it yesterday and enjoyed it, however I think you're review got me too excited for it. I didn't think it was the gorefest of 2008 (I still think Rambo holds that distinction). I didn't mind the over the top villains that much, but the over the top accents were a bit annoying. However, s...

Let The Right One In

Another limited release foreign movie, Sweden's take on the vampire genre may not live up to all it's hype, but is a worthy view if you get the chance. However, it's one of those movies that I like a lot more while I'm watching it than I do when I reflect back on it after the fact. Is it a good vamp...

Eden Lake

Anyone caught this one yet? I guess it's in limited release. I'm not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand, it's awesome, but on the other, I feel like everything in it, I've seen somewhere else. It's like a mish-mash of old ideas, but used to new effect .You'll see traces of (obviously) "K...

I went to see it today (still for free, yay!) and although I enjoyed it well enough, it's certainly for die-hards only. In fact, the entire film felt unnecessary. I felt like it existed only to fill in gaps from previous movies and the new victims were inserted simply so they could say "look, n...

Oh man, that's disappointing to hear. I was looking forward to it. I suspect I'll still catch it in theaters (I think I can still get in for free, even though my nephew who work(ed) at the theater is away for college now). I just realized that I still never got around to getting the dvds for 3 and 4...

Oh man, you couldn't be more right. This was the most blatant rip-off since "Bloody Murder". And it was so stupid. However, the one effect with the dude getting his head cut off was pretty well done. But other than that, it's a total waste.
